Hey All!
Thank you for taking the time to read about my fundraiser for the non-profit, Stupid Cancer. I’m doing some fundraising for The CancerCon 2026 Scholarship Fund. CancerCon is a pretty special event held for AYA cancer patients, survivors, advocates, and health professionals. For those that don’t know, AYA stands for Adolescent and Young Adult.
I heard about the non-profit, Stupid Cancer, and the CancerCon Event from my current primary doctor, who is also a AYA Survivor and attended CancerCon a few years ago. She mentioned it to me last year but I was still struggling at the time and self-isolating in a way, so I just brushed it off. I saw her this week and she brought up the CancerCon again and how she really felt that I should consider attending one. After hearing her out and being more open minded to things, I decided to do some research on Stupid Cancer and the CancerCon. I see now why she feels the way she does towards it.
Cancer Con is a place where you don’t have to feel alone. One learns about new resources and how patients can advocate their needs. It gives AYAS a chance to connect with a community. It helps to reduce the unseen effect of cancer, isolation.
Anyone who knows me would tell you that I do not ask for help easily. But, today I am asking. This organization truly makes a difference to patients and families. By donating, you will help it to reach so many. Additionally, if I am able to raise a minimum of $2,500.00, I will be able to attend CancerCon 2026 as well. So not only will you be supporting a great Non-Profit, you will also be helping to make me have an opportunity to attend this event as well.
Many Thanks,
Alyssa
